Account Suspension

Last updated · July 19, 2026

To keep a healthy environment and protect every user's rights and data security, SnapSpend ("the app", "we", or "us") may suspend an account when it violates our rules or poses a risk. This notice explains what an account suspension is, what can lead to one, how it affects you, and how you can appeal.

The app is local-first: ledgers without collaboration are stored only on your device by default. A suspension affects only account-based online features (sign-in, collaborative bookkeeping, the AI assistant, and so on); it does not proactively delete the bookkeeping data kept on your device.

1. What an account suspension is

An account suspension temporarily or permanently disables an account's access to the app's online features. A suspended account can't sign in and can't use features that require an account identity, such as collaborative bookkeeping, the AI assistant, and push notifications.

A suspension applies to the account itself. Signing in again with the same method (Apple / WeChat / email) will still show that the account is suspended.

2. What can lead to a suspension

We generally suspend an account, according to the severity of the case, when one of the following occurs:

  • Posting or spreading content that is illegal or that contains pornography, violence, abuse, discrimination, or otherwise violates laws or public decency (for example in a display name, avatar, ledger name, note, or collaboration message);
  • Impersonating others, committing fraud, or any conduct that may harm other users' lawful rights;
  • Abusing, attacking, disrupting, or attempting unauthorized access to the app's servers and systems by technical means;
  • Abnormally or maliciously calling our APIs at scale, bypassing usage limits, or otherwise undermining the stability and security of the service;
  • Abusing collaboration, invite, or feedback features to harass, inflate metrics, or spread spam;
  • Other violations of the app's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or other published rules.

We assess the nature, scope, and risk of the behavior together and apply a temporary or permanent suspension accordingly.

3. What a suspension affects

1. Online features become unavailable

While suspended, you can't sign in or use account-dependent features such as collaborative bookkeeping, the AI assistant, cross-device account sync, and push notifications.

2. On-device data is not affected

A suspension does not proactively delete the bookkeeping data stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud. You can still view and use non-collaborative ledgers offline on this device.

3. Membership is not refunded automatically

A suspension does not automatically cancel or refund a subscription you've purchased. Renewals and refunds are handled by the App Store; manage them under Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

4. How to appeal

If you believe your account was suspended by mistake, or you'd like to understand the specific reason, you can appeal by email. Please describe your sign-in method and account details so we can verify. We'll review your appeal and reply with the outcome as soon as possible.
